Upper Canada College Website Redesign

Upper Canada College is a K-12 private school operating under the International Baccalaureate program, with regular site traffic hitting over 2,000 unique users on an average day. With operations software changing in the backend, a decision was made to rebuild the front end.

Working in conjunction with the communications team at Upper Canada College:

• I created a whole new website using the onMessage CMS system by Blackbaud.
• I created a modular and consistent design language and style throughout the website.
• I worked with various stakeholders (Administration, Faculty, Parents and Students) to create the final product
• I worked to meet WCAG Level A and Level AA compliance level

On this project, I joined the team with a few weeks left before launch date. I noticed a lack of a command structure in regards to decision making. I quickly got the team together to decide on a structure for decision making. My next step was to audit the pages that were created before I joined the team, I noticed a lack of consistency in terms of the page design across the website no matter the level of page. I worked with the team to set a design guideline to create consistency across the website to allow for a greater ease of use.
